GRADING SYSTEM  

 

Tests and projects 40%

Tests at the end of every chapter. Projects throughout  the year.  

Quizzes                       30%

Short quizzes given almost everyday on the previous day's material and oral quizzes on cumulative vocabulary as well as completed in class dialogues, essays, conversations, responses to oral questions, etc.

Homework                  20%

Based on completion of assigned work on time.10% of this comes from workbook activities and 10% comes from free response hand in assignments.  

Class Participation 10% Based on notebook and participation in paired and group activities as well as speaking in Spanish in the classroom—no points given for English speaking. 

              

93-100%          A

85-92%            B

77-84%            C

70-76%            D

Below 70          F

 

A few notes about class participation, homework, quizzes, and make-up work.

 

·        Participation points are gained by voluntarily answering questions.  Points are lost when you speak English when you should be speaking Spanish.

·        Written homework receives a grade of 100% if finished and accurate.  Work that is unfinished or inaccurate will loss points accordingly.  Late homework will be accepted at 50% credit.

·        Retakes tests are only given under extreme circumstances after a student conference with the teacher.  

·        All work missed due to an absence must be completed within three days of returning to school.  Any class work missed must be put into notebook. 

     ·        If you miss part of a class, you must get the assignments, complete them and turn them in by           the next class. Also be ready for any quiz or test the day you return.
